FATE

How often have I heard "If it's meant to be, it will happen." I was a firm believer in this myself. Now, (and perhaps tomorrow I will change my mind again) but for now, I have come to believe that there is absolutely no such thing as Fate - which is what people are really talking about when they say "meant to be."

The way I see it, there can be no such thing as fate, or things being meant to be. The only way this could be is if we had no control or influence whatsoever over what happens to us or our life. This would mean that in order for there to be fate, things must be able to happen on thier own, as they "are meant to be" without any interference from ourselves. You would have to do absolutly nothing in order not to influence things around you. And even then you have chosen not to move, in which case you are altering the corse of things by not being part of it. Therefor there is no such thing as fate or things being ' meant to be.' Every step in life is what we make it into being, not what was destined to be. There is no destiny. There is only what we make.

Every step we take, no matter how small, involves our making a decision, also no matter how small. Every decidion me make alters the direction our life is heading, and though we don't realize it, minute alterations of direction often mean drastic differences in where we end up.

Some will argue, as I used to, by saying "But what about when this happend...if it haddn't of I wouldn't have done this... or that wouldn't of happened" ect.

BEWARE the difference of taking advantage of Opportunity, and things happening because they are supposed to. Chains of events are fickle, and each little step we take can change things drastically, but we are not even aware of it when little tiny choices are made.
