I WANT TO KNOW YOU

I want to dive deep into your fears;
To taste the bitter taste
of your horror.
I want to feel the adrenalin
as it rushes through
your frightened body.
I want to swim slowly through your tears,
experiencing your burning anguish.
Plunging through the waves
of your despair.
I want to walk in the sunshine of your smile
and be warmed by your happiness
during those times when life
seems to be pure
and good.
I want to travel on your ray of hope
and share your sweet anticipation,
as you speed into the future,
reaching out for the promises
that it holds out before you.
I want to wallow in the darkness of your doubts,
and be chilled by your cold confusion
when all you have believed in
suddenly seems to be
untrue.
But most of all I want to enter your heart,
when love embraces your soul,
flooding your entire being
with peace and serenity;
An emotional high
which cannot be threatened
by the harsh world
in which we live.
And, when this love
radiates from your sparkling eyes,
I want to look through them,
and I hope with all that I am
that I will see
Myself.
