I Can't Get Here From There

Tripping over my tongue;
Can't speak my thoughts...
I thought you were the one;
I thought that you were not.

Now it seems I'm wrong,
But it's all too late...
Think I'll write a song
And turn love into hate.

It would be easier if I could despise you,
If I could blame you for the pain;
But it seems no matter how I hate you -
I'll still run to you again.

Tangled in my thoughts;
Getting dizzy on the rage...
A little life is caught,
Written on the page.

Words overpower me;
I wonder if you feel them...
Emotions smother me;
I just can't see through them.

It would be easier if I could despise you,
If I could blame you for the pain;
It seems no matter how I love you -
I'll run away again.

Whirlwind of confusion;
High tide of despair...
I've reached a conclusion -
I can't get here from there.

My mind is decaying
With the ticking of my heart;
Think I'lll start praying -
For the healing to start.

It would be easier if I could despise you,
If I could blame you for the pain;
But it seems no matter how I beg you -
I'll run away from love again...
