It all depends what metal you are discussing. All metal is not the same, there is the progressive style of Dream Theater, the modern in your face of bands like Killswitch and All That Remains, a more rap-ish type like Rob Zombie and Disturbed, a classic style like that of Ozzy, the undiscernable screaming of Norma Jean and Dimmu Borgir are also considered a metal style. Metal has many sub-genres just like that of rock, so Metal has no "pre-defined" sound. If you are gonna diss something, back it up with something.
