Well, I have come to know that with my favorite artists, if I want to keep enjoying their work, their behavior better not have to meet with my approval. With a writer or with a painter or musician, after they put the work out there, it belongs to itself, not the artist. I mean artistically, not legally. It has a life of its own, so to speak. So, it doesn't matter what artists are/were like, though it may be fascinating to follow their careers or lives. Everyone has talents, and when we exercise them, we realize they are rather miraculous, and not altogether a reflection of our mundane selves. F.L. Wright was such a difficult person, but created a lot of beauty, for example.
