Stuff like that is so good to know about a writer or artist. It makes for a much better understanding of the painting or novel. Two things that come quickly to mind are the words to a poem..."someone left the cake out in the rain, and I don't thing that I can make it, 'cause it took so long to bake it." Understanding that the cake represents his life sorta adds a dimension to the words. My very favorite song is called simply, "Softly". The words are something along the lines of..."Softly, I will leave you softly. Long before the night has turned to day, I will leave you softly. Before you beg me stay for just one hour...for one more day." Understanding that it was written by a dieing husband talking to his wife makes it much more meaningful. I have friends that visit Paris as often as possible, and my son has spent time in Paris and in the wine country below Paris, which he loved. They both spoke of the heavenly aroma's of the Paris that Elyse described. My friend is a photographer also, and has some very stunning photos that he took of Paris at night that are breathtaking in their display of color and light.
