I like the way the storyline continually returns to King's quandary over whether there's something there between Janice and him...This little soap opera takes place tween the story's action yet all the while the reader is drawn in and subtly watching Dodie lurking in the backround who is more right for Mabry ... like duh = Dodie's a western babe to ride the river with ... wake up King and see the inner beauty Dodie possesses. Is that a word? Healy and Janice seem more city dudes and more right for each other. Also Healy is becoming a good learner and picking up that western toughness he needs to help the gals pull thru this predicament against the weather, bad guys, Injuns, and inner weaknesses... |
