I fear all your answers may be better than the truth . . . but I don't know what the truth is. The title "The Daybreakers" was thought up by Louis' good friend Saul David, then Cheif Editor at Bantam Books. Louis liked it so much he used it. I vote for references to beginning work before daybreak the way rural people, military people, and people on long trips of any sort must.
