It took me a while with Cap Roundtree to come up with anyone in my own experience, but then I suddenly had two:
Frank Reichlin and Rudy Belangie
Both were physically fitting, minus the need for a shave. They were both neighbors when I was a kid. Both were a full-and-a-half generation older than I, but in retrospect, men to ride the river with. I wish I could lite and set with 'em now.
