THE DAYBREAKERS was filled with interesting characters. Orrin, Tyrell,
Laura Pritts, Antonio Baca, and Jonathan Pritts to name a few. My
vote, however, would go to Tom Sunday. He was the most complex of
the characters in the book, and by far the most dangerous...both to
himself and to others. There was something behind Tom Sunday that
we only saw glimpses of. An education, breeding, manners, a man of
warmth and deadly coolness or a man of sudden violence or just as
sudden compassion, and other more subtle nuances, like his ability to
teach, that went into the character made him the most interesting to
me.

This was a portrait painted with words that few writers have equaled.
