I think of a man, now dead, whom I met in East Prairie, Mo., not too far from my home in Western Kentucky. Raymond Brown had been a real cowboy. He had the bullet scars to prove it. He also had a good working horse. He was fairly short, but tough as a razor strop. He and some of his friends in the Southeast Missouri area built small cover wagons pulled by pony teams, and they sawed some 55-gallon barrels in two, mounted them on wheels and had pony chariot races when the rodeos came to town. Cap and Raymond seem almost like the same person to me.
