Have you ever known a man like Cap Rountree? When I think about Cap
I envision a man about 60, in need of a shave, and a chaw of tobacco in
his mouth. His eyes seems to be squinting all the time and he has that
slight smile around his eyes that would draw you to him. Yet if you
crossed him there would be hell to pay.

When I was young, a day or two ago I lived down the hill from a older
man who worked hard all his life. He was dirt poor just like us. But man
the stories he could tell. Full of age old wisdom that was Cap Rountree.

Now that I'm getting older I wish I'd listen more closely to his tales. Or
at least wrote them down.

Jeb was my Cap Rountree.
