I just happened upon this discussion group and would like to join in.
Looks like I missed May's book, but I just happened to have read both
the Daybreakers and Sackett about three weeks ago.
As I read the books I noticed that all the brothers (Tyrel, Orrin, Tell)
seemed to have very similar views on the important things in life. They
all were patient with the weak, impatient with the pompous, desired to
marry well yet incredulous that any woman would consider them
desirable.
I think that this points to LL's conviction that one of the main jobs of
parents is to pass their values on to their children. So many of his
characters discuss the importance of leaving a legacy.
Thanks for letting me join in your discussion.
