I have been busy with San Diego relatives and was fearful to see what happened with my comment. Thank you so much for sharing and clearing up for me what has made me very sad ever since EDUCATION OF A WANDERING MAN came out. This forum is the first time I ever discussed this with anyone. I have read most of your father's books twice, and the Sackett books while traveling by myself out west, riding past Treasure Mountain near Pagosa Springs,or Chunky Gal Mountain in the Smokies. I have all the leather bound series, some first editions, and various videos. He wrote in so many ways that touched us to the core, putting onto print what we only then realized we had felt all along. I am so relieved things were not as I feared. Please accept my humblest apology for any offense; as you say, it was what we had been lead to believe.
There are not many children of famous people who would undertake your job as biographer. The job must be phenomenal, and the fear of getting anything wrong. I know it will sell. From the first time I heard of your research (1990? I have wanted to help in some way. All my best to you - Vickie
