Hmmmmm. I think the Sackett aura actually came from a family with another name that LL ran into in his traveling days. Much of LL's early days were spent on his own in distant lands about as far from family as one could get. Seeing this family's reaction to trouble must have made quite an impression because it became a part of the Sackett mystique decades later.

One of the questions that I hope Beau tackles in the biography is why and how LL left home at the age of 15. I sometimes think of my own kids in that situation and wow its staggering just to think about. I was a blithering idiot at 15, so its incomprehensible to me how Louis managed to survive, let alone grow...or maybe that's the answer right under my nose.
