Kid Newton caught my sleeve. "By God," he said, "today I seen a man! I
thought-"

"I seen a man," the Kid repeated. "Why when I hung those guns on me I
thought I was something, I thought-"

As you can see by the Kid's reaction to what Tell had done for him he
was a changed Man. I don't believe for one second that the Kid would
try to kill Tell after this. If anything he would come to Tell's rescue if he
thought Tell needed his help.

The Kid faced severe adversity and the one person who should of left
him to die came to his rescue. This shows how people can affect other
people by the way they are treated. I think Tell did the right thing
when he let the Kid live back at the saloon. Tell knew he was just a Kid
needing some growing up and that he didn't need killing. I would say Kid
Newton grew very fast coming off of that mountain.
