I am almost finished reading Bendigo, tough to put down. One part had
me "back-reading" though. When he was forced by the three riders into
the dozen Indians on the mountain he stayed the night in a small cave.
The next day he made it by foot to shelter under a deadfall tree and
made it quite comfortable with a small fire. Then he said he "settled
down to wait the storm out". I didn't see any mention of a storm,
unless Louis thought of the bitter cold as a storm (twenty below or
more). Did I miss something or was it a blooper?
