Many books LL wrote were "western". Was the Californios? or The Haunted Mesa? or The broken Gun? Were they true "Westerns" or a cleverly camo for SF and Action/ Adventure/mystery. And Fair Blows the wind and Walking Drum just historical fiction. I think they all have the elements of many genre and A HELL OF A GOOD STORY that most authors could not have told. LL told stories of people and places that we can share without being cold, wet , hungry, and physically in danger. Adventure, Right!!!
