No, and I wondered the same thing, but concluded he'd died in the battle. I took the word "fallen" to mean wounded and "gone" as dead. If Corvino had lived he would have been at the door with the rest of Barnabus' friends or if wounded mentioned in some way. It would have made for an interesting scene in a movie, and one replayed many times in battles since the beginnings of recorded time. A comrade is at your elbow one moment and disappears in the next, and where you wonder for a fraction of a beat of the heart, until the heat of the battle is finally spent and time exists once more.
