Mike: I do/did realise that they were, in fact, two totally different languages/regions. My comment was directed to the variations between the American and Canadian spellings. I have lived in many areas of Canada (including the far north, the East and the West) and have been to Lake Athabasca in the Northwest Territories and have travelled and camped in Algonquin Park in Ontario. When I saw the spellings employed in your respective posts they "jumped out" at me and I thought I'd share my observations.
