Thanks Elyse...your info has been a really big help. The Eno River starts just northwest of Durham...actually close to Hillsborough and flows east and feeds into the falls of Neuse Lake where it is fresh water and finally is part of the Neuse River and the Neuse River Basin. It flows sorta southeast toward Pamlico Sound. Its fast flowing until somewhere near New Bern NC where the salt water "wedges" and wind currents start to mingle. At the lower Neuse an estuary begins around Flanners Beach and finally empties into Pamlico Sound... No word yet on the Eno, but the bad guys must have been the Tuscarora...eventually they fought a war with the "English" in the early 1700's, and killed one of the early English explorers, whose name escapes me now. Some of the other tribes in the area were the Neusiok, Secotan and Coree, but no mention of the Eno...yet.
