LL's early life and to a lesser extent his travels as a writer led him to meet a great many people from a great many places, and I'm sure both the places and people had names and sounds we would not be readily familiar with. My GGGrandfather's given name was Wicker, and I haven't come across too many folks who have that handle. I've met folks named Tai, Muzette, Valveta, Aris, Nomcatcat, Oreste' and several other interesting sounding names from many interesting places and I haven't nearly logged the miles or talked and listened to the folks that LL was exposed to. The names intrigue me as they do you all, but I'm more inclined to wonder where he heard it and what he was doing at the time. Usually, the story I've made up makes me forget about the name itself, and I see a banked fire making shadows dance against the side of a rock face in some long forgotten valley in Asia or South America...and in the distance a sound breaks the stillness of the twilight...
