I've wondered the same thing. Louis failed to even breathe his name in THE SACKETT COMPANION, yet went out of his way to discuss many of the odd items, places and people real and imagined he wove into the story line. The Earl makes a brief appearance in TO THE FAR BLUE MOUNTAINS also, but again Louis fails to mention him in THE SACKETT COMPANION. The time period is 1600 and I wonder how many Earls there were named Sir Robert?
