The land is at Greer's Ferry (?) where the river was dammed and is near Clinton (no relation to Bill)and is in a planned community. There is a sister community in Pagosa Springs, CO. I visited Pagosa SPGS in late September, 2000. I am not sure I want to move anywhere near a planned community, but it would be consistent. So many areas of our country have nice homes and then dumps nearby. If I buy a large area, I have to worry down the road how the vacant areas nearby will turn out. My goal, like everyone's, is to have a 2000 sq. ft. log cabin on 10 to 20 acres with plenty of water and power, and mountains and water near. To buy this, you gotta be way out of town or pay way too much of a sum and you end up near high-end homes, of which I have lived in and care nothing for anymore. This is probably too much info, but I do intend to reach for this goal in the next five years, and pay for it outright. I like the debt-free life. The land in AR, well, I had it appraised a year ago and it is now worth about $500 compared to paying $5200 in 1972. I am a holder, and it will be a pearl one day. I was very young, and a NCAA gymnast, so I wouldn't have been eating doughnuts! And I nearly yearly go back to the Rockies, but haven't been back to AR...I am also considering near Shooting Creek (Sackett!), or North GA. I lived in Rome,GA for two years and just loved it. Went all over L'A/Tennessee country nearly every weekend, with my Black Lab Tell Sackett. This is why I work, to go for these dreams, and L'A is a terrific encourager.
