Labrador City and Wabush, with a combined population of around eleven thousand people, is truly a  unique area. In my totally biased opinion, it is God's Country. With
wilderness rich in wildlife and crystal clear lakes surrounding two communities which have everything a family could possible need, all conveniently close to home, it is a wonderful place to live.
Populated to a great extent by Newfoundlanders, people from all parts of the world can be found here. In the sixties and seventies, many men went to Labrador West with the intentions of working in the mines for a couple of years, and then returning home, never suspecting that they want to stay any longer than that in such an isolated community. But, more often then not, a few years would turn into the rest of their lives, as the beauty of the area, the wealth of opportunities, and attractive lifestyle kept them there.
